Bonjour

Retired and now looking to pursue alternate ways of looking at the world.

I've been lurking for a while and was really excited to visit today the Cannes Yacht Show...

So, as I've been reading, something, everyday will break.

Today, I think it was Cannes.

A house is but a boat so poorly built and so firmly run aground no one would think to try and refloat it.

Re: Bonjour

RD71 it really depends on your maintenance schedule and budget. Things breaking don't really matter if you have paid crew. As long as the champagne is still cold, and the hot tub is still warm then it's the crew's problem not yours. But if you're the average yachtie then no doubt you will have a go at fixing it. Hopefully you can or else it's going to start eating into your pension.
Cheers

Re: Bonjour

Bonjour, RD71,

Perhaps a nice Allure? We have always bought previously owned boats. in that way, the first owner pays for commissioning, and for all the new boat problems that occur to be fixed before we're involved. That first financial hit is a fairly large one, in addition to the purchase price.

Enjoy the search, and the journey.... Cruising is an interactive factor in one's life.

Ann

Re: Bonjour

Many thanks for all your good wishes.

Now I have to be (etre): a somewhat older gentleman; who can learn like an infant; work with ambition; plan like I plan to live forever.

Just got figure out which way to go... east or west, north or south.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers!
