Arizona Sailor Says Hello

It is great to see so many sailors register today! I have never been to this site but it looks like great reading. I grew up In Michigan City on Lake Michigan and miss the Great Lakes, but this time of year I enjoy our year round sailing. I have moved "up" to a Catalina 250 after sailing for six years with a Hunter 170. I sail on Lake Roosevelt east of Phoenix and went out to check on the boat today. A beautiful sunset with snow capped mountains surrounding the lake. I hope to hear from forum members and continue learning about this great hobby.

Welcome to the CF!

I moved from Prescott to Texas in '95. There weren't enough sailing places out there for me!

Hi Gottoaz,

We've probably already met, but not sure. We had a Venture 24 and just bought the Capri 26- Tourist in Paradise in A-28.

Re: Arizona Sailor Says Hello

Thanks to all for the welcome! I agree there are not enough places to sail in Az, but I will say we make the best of the weather.
A28 sounds familiar, I get out frequently and have met many of the sailoprs at Roosevelt. I only wish we had two things:
  • Abetter developed internet community
  • a webcam at the Sheriff's Station above the marina. many times I would liek to go to the lake but wonder about the conditions. A webcam from that vantage would pretty much say it all. I am going to ask our new sheriff for his help with this...
