Any Other Dufour Owners Out There ?
Heard tons about this forum for the last year. Finally decided to join and see what it was all about. The Admiral said to make sure and post a meet and greet. So thats the primary purpose of this. But It would be good to hear from any other Dufour owners out there. Particularly any other 31 owners.

Welcome aboard!
I bet there will be people with Dalfours around here. You might try posting in the monohull forum and see what ya get. People who might not read thru meet and greets could be just the ones you want to find!

Hi Talbot,
1975 Dufour 34 (electric propulsion) in the Upper Chesapeake Bay.
If you are interested in Dufour-specific info, try the Sailnet forum (very little activity lately).

Hi Talbot,
Recently became owner of a Dufour 35 Classic. Wonderful yacht comfortable and slippery. First thing I will do is change the two blade fixed prop to a kiwi feathering prop so we can apparently lose a bit of prop walk and gain more propulsion with the bonus of feathering under sail. I am very impressed with the build quality and the systems that are in place.

Re: Any Other Dufour Owners Out There ?
Thanks to all of you for you welcoming responses. It has been a while since my first post and so just wanted jump back in here.
Our Dufour 31 has been serving us well. It's on the hard right now, but spring is here and we've started the ritual of fixing all the little things, putting on new stuff, cleaning, painting, and buffing.
Looking forward to our third season here in Newburyport MA, more "Dufour" experienced each year. With each project, each sail or trip, each unexpected weather incident, the understanding of what she can handle (not much, actually nothing so far, she hasn't handled well) grows.
One happy owner,
Talbot

Re: Any Other Dufour Owners Out There ?
Hello,
I just joined the forum and own a 1973 Dufour Safari. It is a great boat, solid and dry. It sail well especially into the wind and has a lot of nice features. Given that it was made in 1973 it holds up well even when compared or contrasted to the new designs.
If you are still looking for information on older Dufours I will list a few links.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Any Other Dufour Owners Out There ?
Welcome to the forum Dave. I owned a Safari before, I really loved that boat, safe, dry, and great sailing characteristics. Bought a 1975 Dufour 34' about ten years ago.

Re: Any Other Dufour Owners Out There ?
Does anyone have an owner's manual for a 1973 (or any year) Dufour Safari 27? I found a few sales brochures if anyone would like an electronic version.

I think that your question can be a little bit outdated after two years, but maybe somebody else will be interested in. I'm owner of Dufour 3800. It's successor of D31 and it's almost the same. I have found original manual to D31 in PDF:
