Hi Sailors,
The bug to sail is really starting to bite, would that be a sea slug? can they crawl in the bunk with you? I keep looking at boats with no idea of what I am looking at but being a land lubber I like what I see.
The thrill of
salt water splashing off my face and the cool breeze on my skin is what I remember of the one time I went sailing in Subic Bay, Phillipines. That was almost 30 years ago and in what was a dingy from what I can
recall, the ice chest taking up most of the
deck. I was feeling my sea legs by the time that ice chest was empty.
I wish to pursue sailing and of course wish to keep my costs down and eventually buy a
boat. I am looking at sailing courses and have looked at the
ASA and US Sailing. Both have schools here on the left coast of America, but was wondering if the costs are worth it? I am about 120 miles or 193.121 km East of San Franciso. How did you learn to sail? Any suggestions on
books to learn from? Would you throw some
books overboard to me?
Take care mates and hope some day to drop
anchor in the same port your at. Well as long as I can bring my wife and
kids too, of course.
Paul
P.S. Pirates need not reply to this thread, Vikings are ok though.
