Ahoy from Maryland!
Just wanted to say hi and "thanks" for a great forum. I just bought my first sailboat, a bit of a project Grampian 26. I look forward to learning lots more here -- and sharing my progress -- as I get this girl out onto the Chesapeake this year.

Welcome aboard; I envy you, sailing the Chesapeake was one of our favorite pastimes when we lived in North Potomac and about a million years ago, we had a Grampian 26 that we sailed on Lake Superior on those rare weekends when I wasn't actually fixing it...Good luck with your new boat, I just hope it's better than the one we had.

Re: Ahoy from Maryland!
Give us a shout if you need any information re your new G-26.
We've loved our '73 G-26 #583 since 2000, and she has safely taken us many enjoyable miles.
Cheers,

Thanks for the warm welcomes. James, we could have been neighbors... I'm just up the road in Rockville.

Not far away at all, we were in Coral Gables just off of Muddy Branch, more deer than people and only 10 mins away from the my favourite chandler (Sears). Just don't tell 'em they're a chandler or they'll triple their prices overnight. Enjoy the Chesapeake, James

I learned a long time ago that "Chandler" is a fancy word for describing a very expensive hardware store...
