Now that the Gulf of Piran is connected to international waters and one can sail to Slovenia without having to cross Croatian or Italian waters, this seem to be a safe option.

Re: Ahoy from Croatia

I suppose I could add another small blog update.

Since purchasing the boat, I've spent several days sailing around Pula with friends, trying the boat out and in general spending time on it. Overall things seem fine and so far I'm happy with the purchase.

Not all is rosy however: I'm compiling a list of the numerous tiny issues with the boat that I dislike. They range from the cosmetic (e.g. parts of the interior are old and funky looking) to the not-so-cosmetic (e.g. parts of the deck make a crackling noise when you walk over them, suggesting delamination?; stoppers/clutches are old and not aligned properly with the winches; some of the lines are showing signs of old age etc.). So far I don't think any of the issues are urgent to fix, and the plan is to enjoy the Summer and postpone fixing any issues for Winter.

Re: Ahoy from Croatia

Sounds like a plan. However, I’d invite an expert friend / neighbor to check on the deck crackling noise sooner rather than later.
