45 ft Samson C-Breeze

hello everyone!! We are new to the forum, and have just recently acquired an unfinished professionally built 45 ft Samson C-Breeze. Once she's done, we plan on living aboard... We've just been looking at the site and definitely look forward to talking and meeting people far and wide.

When you post something like that I think you are Biblically obligated to send pictures showing the original and the progress. Else you will have to beware of the jawbone of an ass. Especially when the boat is a Sampson

Wow, I admire your grit, that is a hull only. What is it made of?

I've built boats for other people, but never myself.. its ferro cement (im getting the hull for basically the cost of moving her... including a diesel engine, all the masts, hardware, and lots of extras.) I know its going to be lots of work, but i believe she will definitely be worth it.

Aloha Ken and Carmen,
One of my friends here used to run the Samson yard in SoCal. If the hull is professionally done you have a much better chance of it staying together in my opinion.
Good luck in the finish.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Re: 45 ft Samson C-Breeze

Hi great news on the purchase. i am about to put my samson back in the water after major refit since june last year. will still need masts as originals are shot. wastold they only needed the foots sorting out for a bit of rot, turned out whole masts and bowsprit are gone! will try and put some photos of refit on site at some point soon. be good to re-establish contact with thius group since threat i made to buy one of these things turned to reality. hull was a strip back to cement and repair then coating with epoxy. big job. also cockpit re buiult basically.

Oh forgot. anyone have friendly insurance people??? Can we ferro owners who do look after one of the strongest and 'easiest to repair should the worst happen' hull construction methods, get together somehow and approach an insurer to persuade them to trust our small ships alongside the others.
