35 years Female San Francisco Bay Sailor

Hello Salty Sailors!

I am recently broke up with my boyfriend of 6 years and our dream was to go cruising on a sailboat. Unfortunately he put more money down and I did more work on the boat that was our arrangement. Well... I bet you can all guess how that panned out! I now don’t have a boat I worked on for 2 years because on paper it’s majority his. This is not supposed to be a sob story, but I’d really like to meet like minded people that want to go sailing and potentially go cruising! All I ask is don’t take the wind out of my sails! ;-)

Re: 35 years Female San Francisco Bay Sailor

hello Modarivet,

sorry to hear about your boat story. years ago i worked so, so, so hard on a boat. i fell completely in love with her and still love her even though years have passed, even though she has sailed the seas without me. this does happen, and it is heartbreaking. after this experience, i decided to get my own boat...

yet you clearly want a partner: though you are sure to find quite a few lonesome sailors here, Lovesail is where most women go to find a sailing partner and mate.

good luck to you !!!

Thats sad to hear, Its not the boat you worked on, Its the waste of six years of your life, ,
But it happens, Its a stepping stone to bigger and better things for you,
Female sailing partners arent all that common,
So you shouldnt find it to hard to find your self a sailing partner again,

Thanks for the tip Wolfgal, I might try that love sail site,

Cheers, Brian,

LoveSail does seems to be picking up a number of new members each day. Definitely a good place to look for sailing partners!

Take a look at the San Francisco Single Sailors Association. You might find what/whom you are looking for.

FWIW...

My name is Gary.. I’m 48 and just bought a fountaine pajot 40 ft cat..

It’s in Baltimore Maryland..I’m in Ventura,California
I’m planning on driving out there around the end of the month..
Once onboard I’ll be heading to st Augustine.. for a few boat jobs ..then to bvi and beyond..

I’m a master scuba diving instructor.. I plan on creating a YouTube channel and seeing where the wind takes me...
I do have friends in st Martin.. so that would be a stopgap for sure..

Well let me know I interested in talking.. I wish you the best .. good luck with all your adventures
