Why Sailboats Are Better Than Motorcycles

Did this topic on a Mac board a year ago, and got some interesting chit chat going.

If you race on a bike, you get a ticket, if you race on a sailboat, no fines, no court costs, and no increase in your insurance. The judge that fined your bike race, races his sailboat!

If you fall off a motorcycle, you get road rash, if you fall off a sailboat, they call that swimming.

If you ride a bike all day long, at night you really pay for it. Sailing all day long is no big deal. Much more fun.

Bikers travel all across America each year to see babes in a thong and chaps at Stugis. On a sailboat, the ladies are already here, and no chaps!

A bike leans over to turn, a sailboat straightens up to tack.

Bikes have two wheels, and a sailboat has one or none.

Wind drives bugs in your teeth on a motorcycle, wind keeps bugs off you on a sailboat.

Motorcycles are usually noisy, sailboats are usually quiet.

Can't sleep on your motorcycle.

On a motorcycle, you can take your best girl along, on a sailboat you can take your best girl, and all her girl friends also!

Tell us why you like sailboats better than motorcycles or vice versa.

First off you are comparing apples with oranges. There are a bunch of long time bikers who have become sailors. Bob Bitchin and me are two examples.

1) You can't ride your motorcyle to Hawaii.

1a) Very few people have drowned on motorcycles.

I love them both- I spend 6-8 months a year on my Boat the rest of the year on my bike -anyone want to do the Blue Ridge Parkway in late Sept?

True, but i did drown a motorcycle once.....

Lots of those statements have to come from somebody who has never spend much time on two wheels. My two daughters have slept many hours on the back of my bike on long trips and we spend as many good times out there on bikes as we do sailing. Actually in many ways motorcycle riding and sailing have a lot in common .

You can't go to the bathroom on your bike, or if you do..... well its gonnabe a mess

Crashing your sailboat is very embarrasing (especially if you scratch the gelcoat of a million dollar yacht). Crashing your motorcyle wrecks the bike and puts in you traction for six months.
