Have learnt heaps from this Forum and also made contacts that i hope to keep, that's what it should be about.
Sharing experience, experiences and knowledge just makes us stronger.
It doesn't take long to figure the trolls, same with the baiters BUT that just makes it all the more interesting.
Early days of club
racing on a Saturday afternoon we always invited a
newbie to come and observe our day, we found some fantastic crew this way, people who went on to buy their own
boats and cruise/race. (and take on their own newbies)
Our first
race we went the wrong way after the third mark humbling ourselves in front of the fleet and shouting the bar on our return.
My knowledge of
computers and
electronics is a bit scant, to say the least, but i'm comforted in knowing that i only have to ask the forum and my dumbest question will be answered.
Now that's pretty good because that can be from the most
remote bay in the
Adriatic as long as i have
reception... There's some pretty switched on people in this group.
YESTERDAY i was researching chain joiners (crosby's) and i came across a post by the infamous JEDI it was not on this forum, it was dated 2008 and he was speaking of securing the bitter end by
rope and not bolted which is the absolute way to do it.
Now after that post he came back and said
"Attach 100ft of hollow ski rope to the end so if you have to dump it the line will float making later retrieval easier" ...
Thats gold, never heard of it before great stuff and it was passed on.
None of us know everything there's so much to learn....
Cheers
