Re: Why Climate Change Won't Matter in 20 Years

Notice how the Cult of MMGW actually defends a Governmental Science Department from being forced to give/share their raw data and rationale for their decisions. This is how Facists work.

An 8th grade math teacher asks a student to show their work on a test.
But then we are not to ask the Intellectual Elite to show their work when proposing to make changes to national energy policy....how dare you sir....don't you know what it good for you.

Thanks for the great illustration.

O noes!!! Are you trying to suppress free speech? I'm not the one attacking science, if you hadn't noticed.

not what I said, of course. Most people think the NOAA do a fine job, and present their findings well... but if you need any more, you have but to ask. Isn't that what I just said?

Assuming they aren't already snowed under with tons of frivolous requests from some dubiously-funded think tanks, they'll respond in short order I'm sure.

One quick way to stop AGW or MMGW would be to kill every man, woman and child worldwide... no people=no global warming! Then the climate change alarmists can really figure out what is heating/cooling the planet. Although there won't be anybody around to give a ****.

While said as a Joke...you will note that many in the MMGWC movement actually do call for letting people in developing Countries DIE to curb the population. They are Big into Margret Sanger and her Eugenics movement. How did the good people of Germany fall for a Mad Man and put people in ovens...Propaganda and Consensus!

As a Scientist...I'm not attacking Science...but defending it from being used by a Cult to justify their Religious movement. The damage to real science will be generational when the lies are exposed. The Wolf Crying game will make real science less believed when it needs to be in the future.

The last hard numbers we have suggest it can cost up to $2 trillion to kill 180,000. I think your suggestion wouldn't fly just on price.

You're not attacking science, then you call them liars.

Most of his stuff from there is directed at me. I don't know if he has much to spare.

"Fixing" might be a strong word, but certainly dramatically improving on status quo:

Child labor
7 day/week 12 hour workdays for the poor as the norm
Roads
Crime (Have all your stuff taken by a marauding band lately?)
Baseline education level for all
Hole in the ozone layer

This list goes on and on, though. You seriously think we'd be better off without a government? If that's really what you want, then please, move to Somalia!! Go live where raw forces of might + wealth accumulation dictate where the power and decision making lies. See how "self reliant" you really are, and what that quality life looks like. Particularly after a few generations when your US-earned cruising kitty, or education, or boat, is long gone.

Stop trying to TAKE AWAY my government! Personally I'm invested in it's success, I'm a *part* of this society and I want to work within it to keep improving, as we have done for centuries.

It seems most here don't want us to do anything about it. But that was the point of the NR article that kicked off the thread. Magic fairy entrepreneurs will come and fix everything... and if they don't, well that means there was nothing wrong.

Ah, well... it was a thought I had. But you're probably correct! Phil
