Rimfire came with a stack of lifejackets. I have scrubbed up three of the best to get the
mold and grunge off and they look great. Problem is, they are compliant to Australian 1512 but don't have "PFD 1" marked on them. So . . . , I has bin doing sum readink:
I felt so relieved when I read quote (1) in the gov'ment rules.

Ah, my lifejackets may not be the latest standard but they are to old standards. Silly me kept reading and was depressed when I read quote (2).

A. Sorry, you'll have to replace this one.
As this jacket does not display
PFD type 1,

Oh dear, my old lifejackets are useless as lifejackets.
What to do with them?
Practice ManOverboard techniques when I really hated that crewmember and have no intention of going back.
Practice bowfishing with them, pretending they are puffer
fish.
Pull the kapok out of them and make pillows or a comfy cat
bed.
Leave them in
storage so when I sell the
boat I too can list it as having stacks of lifejackets.
Wear them as fancy dress.
Any other ideas?
