Perfect Storm anniversery
When I had my coffee this morning at 7 am it was 44 degrees F it's now 37. Snow is expected. Just heavy rains at the moment. High wind warnings for gusts 50+ knots. Waiting for a Nor'easter to head up the coast this afternoon. Ironically, the 20th anniversery of the "perfect storm" is this weekend:
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: NOR' EASTER SEASON AND THE PERFECT STORM
Charging the weather radio as I write this and keeping a close eye on the forecasts. Hope to get out for one more cruise after it blows by.

Re: Weekend Coffee & Weather
It's 7C (44F) here in Toronto, but with full sun and three knots of wind, you could convince yourself it's considerably warmer. I am walking off a pulled back muscle in hopes of going for a last sail of the year tomorrow en famille.

Clear sky with no wind, 48.5f and predicted to rise to56f and rain. Nursing a cup of Kona and thinking about some dodger repair if the rain will hold off a while.

I'm in the same boat, eastern, ma 500' from the sea wall. The perfect storm was devastating in our town. This will not be anywhere near that as this storm is moving very fast. It's 43f heavy rain, under a storm warning and coastal flood warning for the 2am high tide tomorrow morning. I'm not sure it can be worst than this taking into account it's just a mere 7 months before the boat goes back in the water...sigh. We'll spend the day reviewing our cruising journal from this summer's cruises. Heading down to Charleston, sc next week for business, hopefully I can get on the water while I'm down there.

Re: Weekend Coffee & Weather
Brought the boat to protected slip in Manhasset Bay from
it's mooring on the Long Island Sound last week just in time for
Nor'easter. Execution Rock Light weather buoy says temp 39f
winds 24 kts/48 gusts. Rain/freezing rain all day. May quiet
down enough for afternoon sail tomorrow. Will sail another 4-5
weeks...weather permiting. Anyone up for some late fall sailing?
Coffee always hot.
Best, Hugo

Re: Weekend Coffee & Weather
woke up to 78 degrees and sunny--actually was pre-sunshine --gorgeous sunrise. was a swap meet today and i was fortunate to find a racor system and chart books-- guide books, actually, to accompany my charts and gps, and water filtration system, and wind an d tow gennies, and some other stuff.
awesome morning. kayak to swap meet, then tow home all kinds of goodies.
took my mocha my way along with me as i found espresso roast beans for 134$/pound with peso at 13.3 per dollar......expensive coffee here.
