[QUOTE="SV THIRD DAY;1419850"] Don't have the data in front of me...but can you tell me how the "War on Poverty" has turned out? Has it decreased the amount of people in Poverty? Are we winning? Or it is like the "War on Terror"? I would agree that both the War on Povery and the War on Terror have been failures because we have more povery NOW and more Terror NOW even after Trillions and Trillions and Trillions....Hmmmm....but then again...maybe that's the point? Na...now that is just CraZy talk Rich[/QUOTE

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, that's a fact. That's capitalism at its best......if your rich:-(

So then we agree that the War on Poverty has been a failure or should we do a "Surge" and double down?

Thanks, maybe I worded it wrong but I hear like in canada you can see a private dr and get right in. Under the government program you could wait weeks or more. I winder if thats where this country is headed.
I have to laugh when I hear Americans talk about the Canadian Health Care system. Many of you have such a distorted view of it. It does have problems, yes, like all man made systems there are problems.

Last week I realized that several of my prescriptions had no further refills. I called and got an appointment three days later even after stating there was no rush. I discussed the progress I had made with my arthritic knee and reviewed the outcome of my visits with the Sports Specialist. I saw the sports specialist a few months ago after my knee exploded (arthritis). She gave me a prescription for a knee brace. Value - $8xx.xx. Cost to me $0.00. We discussed the pros and cons of injections and I decided, because of the progress I had made in re-rehabilitation of my knee not to have the injections. A short wait to see her the first time. She advised that should my knee worsen and I feel I need surgery that I just call her office and make an appointment. No further referral needed. I had seen a physiotherapist for 6 visits...cost to me $0.00. A short wait for the first appointment. I have more visits available if I should need them, but I haven't needed them. I do pay for my Tylenol and ibuprofen. I also pay for my prescription drugs because they are cheap and I have not yet gone over my deductible. I don't have medical insurance. I am on a low fixed income. I feel secure in our medical system even though I see its shortcomings. I am not afraid to do the work, research on my own what needs to be done, follow instructions and treat the professionals with courtesy. That is about all it takes.

Please keep in mind that the ones you actually "hear" are the misinformed few who try to ferret out single exceptions and present them as the norm. There are actually quite a few Americans who take the time to understand our neighbours and respect their society.

Now go home, put something fun in the extra closet space that isn't full of weapons, and sleep calmly - even if you didn't remember to lock the door.

The government provided the stable, peaceful country and robust economic system (which includes healthy and protected workers) in which you were able to make money off of some abstract financial instruments.

Absent a government, there wouldn't be money. And wealth, such as it was, would flow to the guy with the biggest club... until someone else gets a bigger club. You really want that?
Did the government provide that? Because as I recall the people provided that...the government (and most politicians) don't fight wars

Absolutely....because the polls show the majority of Americans dislike Obamacare. Just Imagine if you can, all those ignorant boobs out there that were foolish enough to believe "If you like your Health Insurance, you can keep it". Just imagine...these people are actually voters, drive a car next to you, and may even own a boat in the same Marina...ha ha ah ....my God the horror of it all....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._homicide_rate
3 to 4 times more murders per capita in USA vs Canada

....I saw it on Pierce Morgan...and it is all the NRA's fault. Or better yet...that damn John Wayne for glorifying Guns...that's it.

So I should be forced to move from my country of birth because I am being forced out by liberties being taken away. Pretty sure that's why people came to the USA.
