yes, Xhosa...a unique language....the " X" being pronounced as a clicking of the tongue against the roof of one's mouth...never could get it right...lots of words with that clicking sound....sounds like listening to morse code...

I've spent time in France too...French is as difficult to my ear as Xhosa...

For that matter, go to West Virginia and try to " unnerstan" what they are saying there..

Haha, yea, and that's easy mode. The actual pronunciation can change if you go to the next county.

Yea, I don't speak much French, despite my genetics. Though I have some understanding of German, Dutch, Afrikaans and Spanish, which makes it a bit easier to make an educated guess at what is being said. It's all indo-european with a few millennia to evolve.

Worcestershire sauce has an interesting history as to how it came about..you can google it, but be pre-warned, that you may never want to use this product again, after learning of it's origins and how it's made...cept' maybe as a wood stain or sumptin'...

yes, learning to speak english is not for the faint of heart...

my junior english teacher scrawled the letters
"ough" on the blackboard and asked us to pronounce that....so we said " uuu"
then she added "d" to the front and it became dough, so we said..."O"
then she added "pl" to the front and it became " plough, so we said. "ow"
then she added " tr" in front and it became " trough" so we said " off"

At which point we didn't know whether we were coming or going anymore and took it upon ourselves to pronounce the words as we saw fit...to this day, people think I talk "funny".....
