Now for the non-Aussies in the audience, the predominant beer in Queensland is XXXX, and in more southern climes Victoria Bitter is king... at least according to some perhaps prejudiced folks. There is some active discussion about which is better.

So I was amused to see in a Noumea tourist shop T-shirts with a scene on the front: A horse drinking from a trough and pissing into a big bucket. t here were two models, one with the trough labeled XXXX and the bucket Vic Bitter, and the other with the labels reversed. An astute marketing ploy... let no tourist go un-t-shirted!

Don’t know about your culture but here in the USA XXX marked on bottles means poison. ☠️ Or use to, anyway.

In North America, “XXX” often means, that there's explicit adult content (pornography), or an abbreviation for kisses, usually placed at the end of a letter, often interspersed with “O’s” (for hugs).

WIFE: Why did you marry me ?
HUSBAND: For your wonderful sense of humour my dear
WIFE: I thought it would be for my fantastic love making

At the medical facility waiting area...

Child #1 Do you know why koala bears aren't actually considered bears?

Child #2 ....Because they don't meet the koalafications!

Child #3 ....Because they're marsupials!

Me ... No, no, they really are from earth, just Australia.

(Sorry. I'll see myself out.)

This is an oxymoronic argument.

They are both equally bad....

But I drink James Squires, so what would I know...???

Re: The New Joke Thread

My nephew took a career placement test at school. It told him he was going to be a pirate when he grew up. My sister was furious. She matched to the school and demanded to speak to his teacher.

"Why does this test say that my son is supposed to be a pirate?! Is this some kind of joke?"

The teacher calmly pulled out the boy's report card.

"No ma'am, it's not a mistake. As you can see here, your son has an affinity for High C's."

Hmmm... I lived in the USA for about 50 years and I don't recall seeing that usage. I guess I wasn't cultured enough...

Now I mostly live in Australia where "culture" happens mostly at CSIRO in Petri dishes. (Just joking, guys)
