Today's example comes from this week's International Boat Show at Vancouver: Twiggy the water skiing squirrel was kicked out of the boat show due to, well, its a squirrel!

Twiggy the water skiing squirrel under investigation for violating Vancouver bylaws.

.
I heard that Twiggy the Squirrel was excited when he overheard everyone saying this was totally nuts. We should hire Squirrellock Holmes to do a thorough investigation and see if Twiggy is violating the bylaws.

Investigation not needed because a council person claimed that photo evidence depicts an accurate report of reality. There are laws on the books, and if those laws do not cover theses specific circumstances then those laws will be modified with retroactive application! Kafkaesque tribunal meets Tuesday, 08:15 sharpish. *

* Video and/or audio recording devices nor water skies are allowed.

Re: The New Joke Thread

Except if he was German, it would be neun, pron. 'noyn'

So the 'joke' only works in English

Apparently, I know nothing....

Did you know he was the most famous Austrian-American actor....before some monosyllabic muscleman upstaged him in 1984.

Re: The New Joke Thread

As his former colleague might have said: "Very interesting. Veerrry interesting!"

Was one of my favourite shows as a kid back in the late Sixties, early Seventies when it was first shown on Oz TV.

Ironicly the 'Germans' were mostly played by Jews, many of whose families had escaped Hitler. Clary (LeBeau) had himself been in a concentration camp as a teenager, and survived by utilising his showbiz talents as a singer and dancer to entertain the Nazis

Apparently Klemperer (Klink) insisted his character be a bumbling fool or he wouldn't play the part, so as not to dignify a camp commandant.

We are, once again, all showing our age.

True, but we can only be young once. On the other hand, we can be immature forever!

famous in some circles perhaps (and hogans heros was a funny enough) but i'm not sure he was the most famous austrian / american actor

i'd propose Hedy Lamarr or Maximilian Schell as being slightly better known...

anyway, this is a joke thread so i'll leave it alone

cheers,
