As Will says, "it's just easier in America".

Still tastes like crap though.....

But, in fairness, no-one in Oz knows how to do Reuben sandwich, or a Po-boy "properly" - so each to their own....

Or real Mexican food... there are lots of "Mexican" restaurants, but very little Mexican food (in Oz).

And yes, you can get good coffee here in Oz (if you know the code name for what you want) but it isn't foolproof. I've been served some pretty skanky stuff. We've been gone too long to comment on 'Murikan coffee, but I do remember some pretty horrid stuff in roadside cafes in the distant past!

Travel is broadening, they say, and you learn new stuff all the time. As the video says, a Long Black ain't necessarily a basketball player!

And that, son, is how America and Australia first went to war.

The New Joke Thread

You watch. That was a brilliant marketing move by Nike. Their market is young progressives not old white conservatives.

And no I’m not saying y’all are old white conservatives lol

But the lampoon ads are still funny...and probably helping Nike more than hurting them.

I think it's funny that "progressives" pay so much for shoes from a company that pays it's workers 23 cents/hr to make the shoes. Not quite the image they should want to project, being so sensitive about oppression and exploitation and all that. I'd be willing to bet the executives at Nike are all old, white, conservative capitalists.

By "funny" I mean every word that can't be used on this website.

Personally, I buy shoes based on comfort, style, value/price. I've never viewed them nor will I ever view any piece of apparel as a political or social statement. This ploy by Nike just proves how many suckers are born every day.

I think this ad campaign is just like Kaepernick's NFL career. A short lived fad.

Re: The New Joke Thread

Into a Dublin pub comes Paddy Murphy, looking like he'd just been run over by a train. His arm is in a sling, his nose is broken, His face is cut and bruised and he's walking with a limp.

"What happened to you?" asks Sean, the bartender.

" Jamie O'Conner and me had a fight," says Paddy.

"That little O'Conner," says Sean, "He couldn't do that to you. He must have had something in his hand."

"That he did," says Paddy, "a shovel is what he had, and a terrible lickin' he gave me with it."

" Well," says Sean, "you should have defended yourself. Didn't you have something in your hand?"

That I did," said Paddy. "Mrs. O'Conner's breast, and a thing of
Beauty it was, but useless in a fight."
