Thanks for this link Viking - hams are rarely recognized for what they do and what they provide
As we know, many mariners are hams also.
We have four hams in our family -
The Admiral - AC7XM (ARES)
Myself - AC7SP (ARES)
The oldest mate - AE7MC (11 yrs old)
The next one in line - KE7PWU (8 yrs old)

Before that was my own mother - W6WXU who inherited my Grandfathers callsign -
Lt CDR - USN - S.A. Sullivan - W6WXU

Tim - AC7SP
ARES

Speaking of which..........can anyone tell me what ever happend to "John" from "Keri-Keri Radio" in New Zealand?

That was the most dedicated ham operator that I have ever met. Countless sailors in the So Pacific owe their lives to that guy. Particularly cruisers in the infamous NZ to So Pac Islands route. He even helped me on my trip to Antartica. What an amazing man.

John was a true hero in my book.........Thank you John.....wherever you are.
