Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Well this is my update http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...am-119897.html

Pretty much empty house but still trying to figure out what and how much to pack to take with me when I leave considering I'm still not clear on where I'm leaving to .

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

My corporate career is coming to a close; going sailing again. Actively seeking another sailboat for cruising the Sea of Cortez and beyond. Single male looking for female Co-Captain or First Mate needed...

Hope to hear from you, David

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

This is my third attempt to post.

Hello from far west Texas. I'm Denese, 56, currently boatless living in the Chihuahuan desert.

Me: easygoing minimalist adherent of wabi-sabi and semi-Luddite. Lover of art, music and literature. Passionate about sailing, scrabble and sushi. I'm originally from New Orleans, but spent the major portion of my life in California sailing from Dana Point to Santa Barbara. I've sailed off-shore and plan to do more extensively in the future.

A soul mate would be a fabulous addition to my life. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Question: Why is it you are looking for someone to join with and cruise instead of being a solo sailor?

I have been a solo sailor for awhile, and I am seeing it may be better to share the experiences and adventures with someone of a like mind. I have had people/friends/paying and non-paying passengers join me periodically and it has been good, usually. Maybe the hunt is not so much fun as I am getting older. Evenings in the cockpit alone watching the sunsets, the breezes from shore, and the sights of the anchorages. The sunrises and the sunsets and all in between when you are 30 miles or more from the nearest shore. The ways that the whales move in their majestic beauty, the dolphins and their playful acrobatics, and the rest of the critters that roam my world here on the vast deep blue. Sharing this with someone I think may be a better way to enjoy them all. It is a feeling that I am wanting to try and feel with the right person. In a nutshell, from a nutcase…

Answer: Both the joys and the hard times are better when there is someone to share them with. You said it better!
