Thanks mate

I'm just hoping to keep out of gaol this time....

I reckon the best way to learn is just start doing. Join a social racing crew. You will learn more in a four hour race than you will in a day with me.

I had never cruised until. Bought my boat in SF. Now I have cruised to El Salvador :-)

Don't be worried about inexperience what's the worst that can happen?

Awoke at 3 and read thread, fell asleep and dreamed about profile tabs. Zee had a glowing orange Afro and luminescent skin, smiling wildly at the helm of a sleek offshore racer trailing a wake that said I'n doing 30 knots - freaking awesome! A second photo was clearly photoshopped and woke me up. There was the first Zee steering with a second Zee in profile to her left looking back at a cream Cooper Mini hanging from the davits.

Hi sailors, my name is Mike and I'm new. I'm a Generation X Scorpio, conservation biology and sustainable landscape planning and design by training. I like word play and art. I like grunge more than punk now and mostly listen to world fusion meditative stuff on Pandora at work.

I've sailed since infancy and just bought a 36' steel cutter near Tampa, FL. It is too much boat for one. I love water sports, surf and dive, been a kayak guide. I'm healthy and happy, practice Zen, ashtanga and nutrition. In short, I am seeking healthy partnership.

Last night I was eating a hearty stew I made, broke into a sweat (too much garlic?) and thought it tasted bland. I'd like a fellow food-prep partner who values both nutrition and knows how to add spice.

Thanks MumZee,

Another cold winter aboard in the Chessie lies ahead. Everyone is heading South. :-(

Yes, Zee, I am single. The mobile app won't allow me to edit my profile. I have not been married nor have I children - though I like playing house. Bitter sweet spending time with my dog who the boat seller adopted. Long story short, she wants me to live the dream and Johnny prefers lawn, AC and little old lady treats to scurvy.

I am back aboard as of yesterday evening. After a month of projects and winterizing the house, hauling out Weds AM to grit blast the hull and redo the metal barrier coat sounds fun. Maybe. Yikes! Fear and loathing.

Not so strange buyer's remorse is active today. Not enough storage though I like the open feel of the cabin. The composting head looks monstrous, a true throne, and the space feels cramped. The diesel oven looks salty and cool but I think it will prove impractical for life aboard. None of the smaller than normal pans fit. Yada yada yada... Am I whining?

Time to scrub the prop. Then back to unloading and schlepping tools from the car to the boat. Oh, and the humongous 4D and old Group 31 batteries need schlepping too. Blah, blah, blah. Back to work, nave.

I meant to take and post pix today and the , well, time flies and memory fades. Now it too dark and I'm too tired, stretched out awaiting sleep in the cockpit. Bedtime aboard, especially on warm nights out of the cabin, is still quite strange to me. A canal neighbor's TV competes with fish splashes and wind in palm tree fronds. Time to put the mobile away - and another text about a coffee date tomorrow in Tampa pops up.
