A bot is something that sits on the lower part of your boat...when you get a lot of them, they are called a bottom.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the proper place or format. I usually read forums, not post to them. Here goes nothing...

G'day! My name's Brian. I'm single. I work ridiculous hours but keep my own schedule. Six months from now, I hope to list my house and squeeze every penny oops they're extinct, every nickel of equity out of it, so that I can buy a boat. I'm considering a ketch for short handed sail manageability. Something in the 35 to 40 foot range, but to be honest, I don't know a lot about sailing yet. That's how I came to be here. I am however, very mechanically inclined and a quick learner. That being said, if there is someone reading this now that thinks I'm way out of my class considering a 35 to 40 foot boat, feel free to chime in at any time. I love the ocean, but I prefer not to die on it.

I hope to spend next winter on the water, or at port some where warm. I won't care how long it takes to get somewhere, so long as my dog I get there in one piece. Of course some female companionship might be nice. I love my dog, but he doesn't say too much and gives really crappy hugs.

Thanks Zee I hope to finish renos on my house by next spring/summer and start putting my grande plan into action. My "plan B" would be to crew myself out and learn on someone else's boat, provided I was allowed to bring my dog. Long shot, I know. Of course I would pay for the experience, and lots of beer!

41' ketch?? How many crew do you need to take her out? If you say "zero" you will be my new hero!

Cats do hug well. I missed mine, so I got another dog.

who actually has a boat here? No apology for the question. No excuses accepted. I thought I found a cool site. I'm single 'cause people don't sail. WHO has a boat and can teach me something I don't already know?

Hmmmm With that approach, I'd have to say nobody. But thanks for the thought provoking questions.

Wowwwwww I'm impressed Zee!

Maybe there's hope for me yet to solo pilot something in a similar class? Of course otto(pilot) will be a prerequisite.

Mayhem? Canal? I volunteer! I spent 30 days in Colombia.

You have my respect and admiration Kordie. Albeit tainted with a bit of jealousy.

Hope you have boatloads of fun!
