Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

nemo--gotcha--now the hard part-finding that crew to make her come down coast to ensenada.
where in ensenada will ye be placing her? coral is pricey as is cruiseport--the rest--marina ensenada and juanitos--are both places wherein youmay find discounted rates for longer time--baja naval is ok but pricey-they have best wifi on malecon

juanitos and ensenada dont have benefits--no showers or banos--just wifi.

please make that cake chocolate--my birhday is friday and i am itching for some great choc cake....LOL

As a fellow Canadian, I was not aware of any need to have a visa to visit the States with a boat. Can you expand on that, as it may affect me.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

If you are traveling by boat into the U.S. you will need a B1 and B2 Visa, at least that is what they have told me, but then i am a Landed Immigrant in Canada as well from the U.K. so it may just be stricter for me.
I was traveling to San-Fransico by bus from Vancouver Canada, to get to my boat in San-Fransico.
Everything was sort of ok until i mentioned that i would be going aboard my boat and sailing her up the coast.
This changed all of the rules for me.
I would definitely call into an American Embassy wherever you are, and don't take any chances, because the negative consequences are severe.

If you are a landed immigrant, but not a Canadian citizen, it makes a difference. I am also a landed immigrant, but as a Canadian with dual citizenship, I do not need a visa.

I wonder if the issue is that you did not have a return ticket? You are, of course, limited to only 6 months in the States. They are not concerned about a return ticket if you come in by car, truck or RV.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

About the requirement for a B1 B2 Visa,, i too was ok as i was travelling under the Visa Waiver program, (Britain is a Visa Waiver country) and of course i had a return ticket!! i was making sure that i crossed the "T"'s and Dotted The "I"'s but the issue is traveling on a non commercial carrier i.e. my boat,as i would have to put in at numerous points on the journey.
I think you'll find that you do indeed, need a Visa, if traveling by private Boat.
