Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Hey there! I am a 37 year old woman who has dreamed of living aboard since I was about 12 years old. I am fresh out of a ltr (so I'm trying to go slow!), but I'm looking to make some new connections. I'd love to meet someone like-minded to join me out on the water someday. I want to get out there and start living the life I have always wondered about but never pursued before now.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Hi, I am a single hetro male searching for my future cruising mate for long term sailing and living adventures.

I'm 6'0" 250# mostly happy and currently living at a marina in Key Largo Florida. I do not do drugs or alcohol and as far as I know, my photo does not adorn any Post Office wall or other offender websites. I am retired and financial secure. Love to sail, laugh, explore, read and with right person even do a bit of cuddling
....

Looking to find a lady who enjoys the liveaboard lifestyle. I prefer a friend of Bill W's, but non problem drinkers are welcome. Someone whois intelligent with common sense who lives and loves life. An optimistic outlook on life.

I don't know the expectations of this forum, so please write to me if you'd like to get to know me.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

thunderbird, where are you located?

it is never wise to await the presence of another for accomplishing your dreams. be flexible and begin without the allegedly needed other. we do quite well on our own.
we also meet others while we travel, and there could be someone already sailing could use a partner or mate. random stuff happens.....just be open to it.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Maybe just look for crew and see what happens?

I myself am a little shy after having a few relationships with sailors that looked like a good match.

My future Soul Mate should be time tested, lots of impostors out there. I have spent time with a few.

I do believe there are some Single Sailors that would like to share a boat and some adventure however, when your out there in the ocean for a little time, you need to be able to count on the one your with partner or otherwise.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

soulmates often begin as friends--sometimes a magical lightning strike on meeting-- lol i have yet to encounter that magic, but i cannot rule it out, having spoken with some who experienced that. had an aunt and uncle and some neighbors in this category.
after reading our mission statement., i think one seeking crew should find the crew listing section of cf to begin, and walk many docks for boats needing a hand, or hands needing a boat, whichever is appropriate. yes it is still done that way.
there are also options for morning cruisers net, should there be a local cruising community.
out here in west coast mexico, in the morning cruisers net, there is a category for seeking crew and rides. this is the perfect place to begin a search as a crew. best time to seek is winter, when the flock returns from their nests, right around end nov to mid december. channel varies dependent upon location. some are channel 22 at 0900, 72 at 0800, 68 at 0830.... is all determinant upon location and participants.
in san diego there is also a cruisers net, or was, on channel 68, but i forget the time. downwind marine is also a good place to find positions or seek help. they have a bulletin board for just that. so does west marine, and many marinas also have bulletin boards in plain sight. downwind can also help ye find the cruisers net, as they have been an active part of that for years.
crew positions are much easier to find than soulmates. soulmates are out there, is our choice system and lifestyle that helps or prevents or facilitates our meeting them. this group merely filters out the temporary position seeking souls and hopefully assists those actually seeking soulmates in finding same, in a self guided manner.

smb--i LOVE your buddies-- i just need to keep my fingers away from their heads when i gift em mangos....
