SR-71 Jet Seen Over Germany
FARK.com: Fark Video Player (4464984) Remote controlled SR-71 Blackbird
Something I've always like doing was building models but this one is out of my league as far as the engineering.
I guess I'll have to stick to boats.
Just had to share with you flyers.

A lot of boaters are flyers too and this I relate to construction although it is in the "OFF TOPIC FORUM".

I used to muck around with RC planes years ago, i can remember my amazement on seeing my first RC plane fitted with retractable undercarriage, but this blows that away...
Thanks for sharing

The Flight Museum in Seattle has one of those on display (at least it did several years ago). It's absolutely HUGE.

Flight museum in Seattle still has it. CIA variety with the pilotless drone attached. It is truely an awsome sight and even more amazing being 1963 vintage. http://www.museumofflight.org/aircra...m-21-blackbird

Yep! Some of us are of the aviation type! Background as a pilot, and recently left the FAA as an air traffic control specialist (up near Seattle) to pursue engineering.... offers much more flexibility for future cruising!!!
The Boeing Museum just south of Seattle does indeed of the SR-71 on display, as well as the Space Museum down in McMinnville Oregon, where the Spruce Goose is also on display!

Now THATS an RC airplane. Well flown too. But I gather from a photo I saw posted on a modeling forum that there is another one being built somewhere which is about 1.5-2x as big. There was a photo of the airframe shown with two guys standing beside it.
I look at my OS Max .19RC engine and my 6 channel radio set and think I'd better stick with sailing.
