Friends & Patient Adversaries,
Splash day is here! Watching
paint dry for 5 days is enough. Outta here. Peace and quiet will return to CF. You're on you own grasshoppers. Your over-posting geek-egotist switches to sporadic mode.
In the last eleven days
on the hard:
Bottom paint, the odd blister filled, faired
rudder, cleaned every locker, rewired entire nav station, wired
SSB,
PACTOR,
GPS and
AIS for MacBook, polished topsides, removed redundant antennas, got new FCC callsign, registered 3 EPIRBS, installed MacENC and new chart subscriptions.
All that while
posting relentlessly on CF, plus:
Tossed out 300 kilos of useless cruiser junk: WX fax, 1000W
inverter,
shore power system, 155%
genoa cars, 30m rusted chain, redundant anchors, 5th and 6th table settings,
propane bottles, dead
electronics gizmos, cans of ptomaine veggies, rusted tools, towels for the 5th thru the 30th visitor (what was she thinking?), and the old spare docklines (does one need spare docklines?), all the instruction
manuals for stuff long gone.
All that and 99% success in closing the hatches for every squall.
Practiced guitar, updated the blog, worked on my curry skilz, grocery
shopping, recon prowl of every local chandelry,
propane fill, crashed local YC party, cleaned the
bilge and pumps, repaired
galley faucets.
Only one thing on the to-do list (kinda kidding):
Buy and add distilled
water for the old-school
batteries, oops, forgot they were not all
AGM.
Later, miss you already, I remain,
Daddle
