Zee,
That is so true, you can’t push a river but you can guide it where you want it to go. Mostly with suttle nudges and maybe a prod here and there.
Glad to see you didn’t blow away…
Notice the suttlies...

I agree again... You can't make lemonaid without water... and some sugar. That's where I get happy. Just add sugar... or just sugar...

Re: Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mate Group

The "love" of animals is great to have around sometimes, but is nothing like the love we want with another human. It's more like the behavior of the slave to the master. I think, though trust is crucial to love, it grows slowly over time. You can't expect someone to trust you fully right away. But if you are feeling love for someone, then you must take the chance to trust, a little at a time. Trust is earned, and not by words. Oh and don't forget to give love, not just seek to get it.

rofl smb-i always have chocolate in my larder--i most important foodstuff.
anyone i hang with gets love-whether they choose to accept is another story--i love my friends-- but then i have only a few of the close kind of friend....any relationship is a 2-way street-- communication, giving, trust--all of it--is a TEAM

Re: Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mate Group

Why do online scammers have a general disregard for the rules of capitalization? Having English as your second language is one thing, but you would think capitalization would be something that generally carries over between languages. All of the recent scam emails I've seen have just been willy-nilly about what gets capitalized. Drives me crazy.

So tell me guys, when there are so many gorgeous mail order brides out there, why arnt you all fixed up?

Is there still a stigma ?
if there is, what does it matter in this f**ked up world anymore?
You all should know by now, life realy IS so short, so stop sitting on the fence cos you only get splinters in yer butt

Re: Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mate Group

I can't think of anything less appealing than spending several thousand dollars to import a stranger, most of whom barely speak English. Then, depending on where they're from, there's no telling what it would take to get them citizenship or to be able to travel with them.

I have a hard enough time communicating with women who do speak English.

I'm currently contemplating a move to France for work, which would require selling my boat and starting over in a country where I don't speak the language. It's a unique opportunity but a bit terrifying. I couldn't imagine moving over there for the sole purpose of being someone's husband ...

Re: Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mate Group

If you make it across the pond, give me a call, I give great oral lessons in both French and English.

Ooooops, scrub that, it sounds awful.

Ahem, you know what I mean.

Re: Single Sailors Seeking Soul Mate Group

I'll be over there sometime this spring no matter what I decide on the job offer. I've been following your build progress on your blog. I'd love to see the new boat.

Never, ever pass up an offer to live in france for a while, (a) nice people, (b) beautiful country and (c) youll never eat anything from America ever again The language is much less of a challange, when you are immersed, presumably you dont need it to work.

Gotta agree with you here. Even the "Street food" puts "3-star" American food to shame

Just think how much guts it must take for these women to even offer to lift and shift to a totally unknown country and person, in a different language, leaving their family behind.
