Re: Scottish Town Bans Bananas for Sailors

G'day SH,

At first, I misread the intent of what Portsoy did, and thought they banned the bananas for people who sail.

Now, I see it's all publicity, but in a good cause.

Cheers,

Ann

NO! Banning bananas is NOT a good cause. How could anyone think that???

What is a good Scottish monkey supposed to eat??

This is disgraceful.

To Ann & Salty:

The article shows that the small community is promoting their local maritime festival with old sailing ships and boats coming and lots of people too. I think it is cool and a clever and funny thing (the banning of bananas). I have never heard of any other seaport doing that (perhaps some have), so I like it. I thought it was a cute gesture and good PR move too.

I wish I could be there too, because I really like to see traditional sailboats from all over the world, all types. I find them particularly appealing.
______________

Speaking of appealing...

"A Peal" of a different sort:
For anyone who doesn't know already, I am an artist (painter) and I paint sailboats as one of my long-time favorite subjects to draw and paint. Several examples can be seen in my CF Profile (I will be adding several more in a day or two). Traditional boats, usually gaff rigged are my favorites and I am always looking for more examples to study and possibly paint. If anyone sees such a boat or boats out on the water as you are sailing wherever you are, please take a photo or snapshot and show me via a Private Message. I like to see boats either sailing or at anchor or moored. Your help will be appreciated, as I hope to paint many boats this year and in the future.
