Schooner association

I am a member at large of The American Schooner Association established in 1972. The association is headquartered in Mystic CT. I have participated in the association's sailing events and have gotten to know many of the owners and crew members. Its a great supportive and fun loving community dedicated to keeping the schooner and tall ships tradition alive. Living in Texas, it's a long way to New England. That said, the National Association has authorized me to seek out interested schooner owners and whantabes in the Gulf of Mexico area who are interested in forming/joining the American Schooner Association- Gulf of Mexico Chapter.
If so please contact me Kevin O'Cuilinn at kevin@bigbend.net

Re: Schooner association

Hi DolphinBuddy, Glad to see your outreach here for the American Schooner Association. They are a great group, indeed. We're members (see link here) and think it's a great group for schooner owners or just folks who love schooners. Brenda and David

Re: Schooner association

Beautiful schooner, thanks for tour thread. Yes the New England group is
great. I crewed On the Mystic Whaler during the Great Chesapeake Bay
Schooner Race this past October and transited her home. Spent February on board her helping replank etc. And Yes, I am a Schooner folk that loves
them . I will be crewing on Quintessence out of Tom's River NJ for this coming October race Thanks for responding and please pass the word regarding forming a Gulf of Mexico American Schooner Association chapter.

Re: Schooner association

Thanks, I will get in touch with Jamie White. My wife is a fourth generation Galveston Island girl, so we are familiar with Tall Ship Elissa there in Galveston TX. We have a photo of her and her mom on board 35+ years ago. Paul Gray tells me that you are starting an on-line classic boat related store. How can I find it?

Re: Schooner association

@DolphinBuddy, small world we have. I haven't visited the Elissa and I've had many trips to Houston. My best friend from college has been there for going on 20 years. The marketplace isn't open yet but you can go like us on Facebook here and follow what we're up to. The site itself is password protected for a few more days. I'll post something in the classified part of the Cruisers Forum once we're really *live*
