Hello to all my acquaintances on Cruising forum. I have
sold "Joli Elle" in
Mexico. After 42 years of messing around with sailboats, it is time for me to move on. I feel I am getting out on top. The
boat was in it's best form and received a very good
price for it. As with all my
boats that I have built and others I have refitted, the selling
price covered the original cost and
rebuild materials. Not everyone can say that.
The decision did not come lightly. After I retired 1 1/2 years ago, I knew it was going to be a challenge financially, so the idea to sell was well thought out. It gives me a chance to pursue my other equally
import hobbies such as finishing my 1960 Thunderbird, my Whitehall rowing skiff and our just purchased 1945
Cape Cod style home on one acre for our horse which in itself is a huge under taking...(horse's I mean).
I have always been vocal about people here giving
advice who do not have
boats or use to
cruise a number of years ago. I just cannot see myself in that roll. That said, I will only be using the
for sale threads to sell my hundreds of
charts and miscellaneous
boat items.
I belong to other forum and will no doubt be as entertained as I was here with controversy. Although "climate change" may not be too popular on the rowing forum
.
Thanx again to all the dedicted people who helped me so many times. Fair winds.
