Sail loft making protective face masks

Thanks to Ullman Sails Newport Beach:

“At our SoCal locations we transitioned to making high quality face-masks as they became a sudden necessity. We are doing our best to "meet the moment" support our community and keep ourselves in business. We have orders for over 4,000 masks so far and are 2 days away from having them all filled. Lead time peaked at 10 days for the first wave that all came in together but is now down to 1-3 days with improved production and stabilized order flow.”

Same this side of the pond. Sanders doing their bit which is really nice to see. They could be our preferred sailmaker next time around.

This is really nice to see, unlike those protestors out there making the pandemic worse.

Re: Sail loft making protective face masks

I am also glad to see sewing-based industries sewing as a positive response to the pandemic.

My daughter diverted time away from her stained glass business to sew masks for her friends and others who could not. Once people heard she was doing that, fabric donations came in. My machine, which normally is just sewing stuff for the boat and RV, is getting a workout. My 80-something year old aunts were sewing masks too.

Something about an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?
