You can't seriously believe that. Firstly in any global major crash countries close their borders . That leaves you alone and adrift. Secondly you effectively become stateless and subject to the very onerous laws of any state you happen to come across.

If it goes pear shaped you are always best amongst your own.

Ultimately you can't just sail off into the blue yonder. You still need a functioning society. Do you think it's wise or moral to abandon your country if it was on it's knees.

Armageddon is a funny trait seemingly prevalent amongst the strongest!!

Btw those who think WW1 was started merely by killing a minor European royalty need to read more deeply. Large nations start wars not small ones ( they can't nobody takes them seriously enough) mostly it's done vis proxies

I think there is much truth in what you say, but there are other reasons to have a bug out boat. We live in a big city. If things go pear shaped then we might need to get out of town for a few days or weeks. Maybe won't need to do much more than hang out in the Delaware Bay until the loom of the fire light passes. Secondly, I don't have to leave the Country, but I may have to leave the City, into the country. Go North to Maine, or South to the Albamarale. May not be perfect but it is better than being in the City.

If I DO have to leave the country, well then I still have places to go, being a dual citizen and owning ocean front land in Canada.

I know that not everyone has the same resources I do. But then I didn't always have them either. It has been years in the making and exploiting all the good luck I could find.

Nuclear war is the best way for modern man to bring about the end of the world. But thanks to my government, unlike the fallout shelter we had when I was a kid,I just have to stay in the house/car/boat for a couple of days and everything will be fine...because my government tells me so. I live 30 miles from the West Coast boomer base, so unless I figure it out beforehand, I ain't going nowhere, and my boats just outside on the bouy.If you live in the Salish Sea, You Are The TARGET...SORRY

But in practice the only say is to deal with the underlying issues you can't deal with it by acting against the persons directly ( since there's effectively an unlimited supply)

Please this isn't a political thread let's not bring Palestine onto this it's too tragic abd desperate a situation for a quick joke
