Well, I should be OK crossing oceans in a 40' cruiser with many amenities, in spite of my doubts and fear. Good job!

Yes, this one had a water maker as most of them do. But I think it packed up half way across and the guy had to fall back on a small manual unit.

He had a specially designed boat - self-righting, etc.. So it is not like you or me jump into a beach toy and start rowing mad.

But out there in the ocean alone and dependent on the wind / current / and yourself ... uhmm - adventure, big adventure.

I think it is a bit strange so many of them fancy adventurers carry so much communication equip. I say a PLB is one thing but all the talking / blogging from the middle of nowhere is simply not me. I see being out of reach one of the great benefits of offshore sailing.

Except if your doubts and fears point at the possibility that the size and amenities count less than other factors.
