I didn't think it was that dingy. One of Mark's mates wore purple and there seemed to be at least one phalanx in yellow

I guess it the most visible threat and the one we have the least control over. I like to cruise to get away from the hood rats that mug people on the subway. Its a little disconcerting to sail halfway across the world to paradise, only to find the same threat of a couple of thugs with machetes that want your stuff.

The most visible threat to cruisers is the Stock Market. It's taken out more cruisers then pirates ever will...

What's needed are Q-ships to foil pirates: innocent-looking vessels with hidden and overwhelming firepower. People could be recruited and given the opportunity to handle heavy and rapid-firing weapons. Some might be willing to pay a significant fee for the adventure, making the effort largely self-supporting. It would also be helpful if the UN established bounties for killed/captured pirates, maybe $20,000 a head. When pirates express their evil intent upon a vessel, they and their vessels should be immediately destroyed/vaporized. Video cameras could document the deeds to support bounty claims.

The reason Q-ships haven't been employed is because countries/organizations aren't very serious about stopping piracy.

Personally, I'll just remain in home (U.S.) waters. You crazies thinking one can cruise through pirate-infested waters, what are you thinking?!
