Ooooops! Boating accidents (funny ones)

Ummm, is there a thread open for boat disasters?
This is not appripriate for Nautical Oddities..
But there must be a thread somewhere!

On this launching accident see the guy on the port stern in the second pic.

Amazing pictures.

Also amazing that when the boat went in bow first, it ended up inverted rather than right side up. That should put fear into the heart of megayacht owners.

Check out the diesel slick on the water in the third picture. If that happened in Florida where I used to moor my boat, there would be a $50,000 fine for the pollution. A mega yacht had a fuel tank leak, and the bilge pump put diesel fuel in the water resulting in a $50,000 fine.

While the website is a complete disaster in terms of navigation and design, one of my favorites is The Gallery of Transport Loss which has pictures of at least 100 shipping disasters/wrecks/accidents. Enjoy!

(Navigation tip - page down past the top, pictures are near the bottom of pages)
