Ok gang... we just purchased a 36' 1985 Hunter. It has the typical 2x2 head. Ok, it MIGHT be 3x3. Still, this is the girl who is downsizing from 1,600 sq ft. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the whole showering thing in there easier???? We are going to be living aboard full-time.

Re: Newbie

To get more room when showering, use a cockpit (or deck) shower!!!

Re: Newbie

Cockpit shower, really, install a good one that you can rinse your hair out, hot and cold water etc.
Showering inside should be avoided if possible, heat and humidity etc.

Re: Newbie

I only shower in the cockpit nude if I know no one is around. In the states it's big fine to be nude just about anywhere. Works pretty well in a bathing suit. Literally I am writing this from the cockpit right now having just showered on deck in a bathing suit. Have to work the soap in underneath and rinse very well

Yes, cause we go out of our way to find deserted anchorages, then if not just turn the cockpit lights out after dark and no one can tell.

Welp, it looks like a cockpit shower is gonna be the solution.

In the states, and I suspect some other places as well, it is a fine/crime/what ever to be nude in a very few places. Those places are in marinas often in cities. My last trip from the Keys to the Panhandle I spent a couple of nights in marinas but showered in the on shore showers in the marina. Every night I anchored out I showered on my sugar scoop in the nude. But I anchored out away from marinas and cities.

Point is if you are cruising it is easy to anchor somewhere that no one will notice if you are nude even if you rig a bosun's chair and go to the top of your mast. On the other hand if you are in a marina the showers on shore will normally have a lot more hot water (and water in general) than any boat I will ever be able to afford (including the OP's boat).
