Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens
I need to start firming up some plans. So what is the best season and route south to avoid Krakens, Giant Squids and Sirens?
Is it true that the amount of rum aboard the boat effects the chances of Kraken attacks? If so how much is required?
I watched a documentary the other day where a Giant Squid attacked this submarine. They fought it off with a long wooden pole with a spike in the end thrown by this guy with a funny chin. This seems a kind of dated method, is there a more modern weapon that wouldn't cause check-in issues?
Any update on how to handle sirens? I read the story of this guy who tied himself up with rope and used wax in the ears of the crew. I'm not really into that type of action and there must be a better way.

A sufficient stock of rum would probably handle all of those problems.

Re: Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens
Sorry, the rum only works very well on the Sirens. Not so much the Squid and Krakens...

Gaff the krakens.
Grill the squid ( unless the below decks deep fryer is installed).
Send the sirens my way.

Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens
The big fast French cat caught a giant squid last year , stopped the boat dead. Rumor has it , that it goes well with red wine and fried with a little garlic. So it seems those are not serious problems unless you have no garlic
Krackens seem to be attracted to drinkers of cheap spirits, often home made. Seemingly restricting yourself to a diet of expensive fizzy water, means you will never be troubled.
Sirens are very dangerous creatures. In the marine world, these are often seen at boat shows. You most likely have already succumbed and don't realise it. For proof study your next chandlery receipt. Once smitten it seems there is no known cure.
Good luck

Re: Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens
When I drink a lot of rum I see pink krakens, which are evidently the worst sort, so that's an argument against a lot of rum being a deterrent.

Best way to avoid Kracken's is to keep the lid screwed down tight! I find it keeps the sirens quiet and the giant squid shrink to palm size bait.

What does a pink Kraken wear, and do the sirens get jealous?

On the other hand, all those problems may have actually been caused by rum...

I could tell you how to handle them, but I'm a gentleman pirate, and I cannot tell. Plugging your ears with wax will never work. It is impossible to resist the siren's sons. Listen:
You are welcome..HAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens
I was able to listen and resist, but the wax may have been the answer
