People that were racist / anti-whatever-religion still are; the vast majority still uses common sense and isn't
The most shocking news was shortly after Paris: our Mayor (Moroccan-Dutch Aboutaleb
) was rushed out of a restaurant because they'd spotted a car with Belgian plates parked nearby
Politically, there is a LOT going on, obviously, and we'll have to see how all that plays out. So many agenda's at play there ...
But I haven't noticed any more racism or aggression compared to, say, a year or two ago. And in spite of all the talk, crossing the borders between Belgium, the Netherlands
is still easy as can be. I went to Belgium early this year and didn't even notice I'd forgotten my passport until I got back to my boat
... You wouldn't even notice you left the Netherlands
if it wasn't for the street signs suddenly looking different
