Actually, it's the Belle, a riverboat that takes folks on cruises up and down the Pamlico River out of
Washington, NC. It usually is docked near the Estuarium on the
Washington Downtown waterfront, but for safekeeping, the owners took her to Broad creek and tied her to a dock.(not the one she ended up on) You can see what happened when the waters rose and fell, what hasn't been figured out is how they will float her again. The owners say they plan to resume the cruises next week. The two
marinas and one of the
boatyards on Broad creek were devastated by the storm. Covered docks fell and crushed boats, broke up, and boats in that yard fell over and floated off stands and into other boats, a real mess.
