Well, I have been at anchor at a deserted Island for days or a week and then another boat turns up. They have 1-5 miles of space to anchor in, but must anchor almost under our swing.

Nice people, well travelled, experienced etc.

I feel crowded and move on.

I don't know but have been told that a conversation with the owner of a powerboat about the safety of having enough fire extinguishers on board with a flair gun in your hand tends to move them off. I don't know, just saying I've been told that.

Well actually the topic of this thread "illuminate me" was intended to have double meaning. I have yet to see a yacht with enormous high wattage lights illuminating an entire anchorage all evening.
