Not that simple... you'll have to get Sarkosy's permission first...

If they're looking to raise dollars perhaps they could talk to the pirates on Wall Street. Issue a Collateralized Reverse Assets for Pirates bond, or CRAP, and they'll never need to fool around with shipping again...

If you've ever read any history on the Barbary States Pirates , British and French "Privateers" or any other pirating nation you'll find that history has changed nothing.
Somalia is just doing today what they did back then, just enough to be a nuisance but not enough to cause war and if being a nuisance turns more of a profit than peace, then they will continue to do so.
In all fairness a certain as death and taxes there will always be pirates be them state appointed legal "privateers" or not, as long as there is a sea to sail in, bounty on the horizon and a boat to get there there is no stopping them. Legal or not they are a nuisance we have to learn to both avoid and tolerate.

Most people don't realize it and refuse to admit it. And they will vehimently "attack" those who mention it. But at the risk of drawing consternation from those who attack the messenger instead of considering the thought, here goes....
You are a Twinkie. A delicious, well wrapped item, just waiting to be "consumed".
If you've never stepped away from the huddle masses of people protected by a police force, then you don't know. Your experiences in your living room and in polite society will not help you to understand the thought.
Be a Twinkie or arm yourself, however lightly. There is no middle ground where there is no daddy to come sweeping in to save you.
And all your consternation at this post will not help you change the fact.
Regards,
Brad

I must respectfully disagree. I think when people think that way, it becomes a self for-filling prophecy....it can be "senced".

James S - are you actually in Yemen? If so, what's the inside story?

No second meaning for the word Twinkie was meant. Didn't know the slang term.

I think Davis Old Jersey was on the right track about the counseling with one exception.
Instead of Crystals, a bunch of ,50 BMG rounds will cure what ails them PERMANENTLY...
If you have an unknown vessel approaching you, 10-20 rounds in front of them will cause any halfway intelligent person to veer off if they are honest seaman.
If they don't veer off the chances are good that they are pirate TRASH and up to know good. So what's the problem, just dispose of the trash. If a good watch is being maintained, all this can be achieved while the pirates are well out of RPG range..
2000 meters for the .50 and 300-350 meters for the RPG
