Hats That Don't Deform?
Anyone know of a good wide-brim sun/rain hat that won't deform in winds above 20kts? I had a Tilley before but once the wind gets up a bit it folds up or flops in my face. What do you guys do to keep sun and rain off?
Google, of course, isn't much help; cowboy hats and Tilleys 🤷🏻*♂️

So you guys just use sunscreen, then? I was nearly blinded (temporarily) last summer pulling into an anchorage from sunscreen getting in my eyes. Was painful and dangerous. I want to avoid that in the future. Might have to make a loose fitting cotton "ski mask " haha

Columbia sportswear's Schooner Bank Cachalot III is not a wide brim hat but it's very good for sun protection. It's a baseball type hat with draping side and neck cloth. It's tightened with a cinch on an elastic cord. I know it'll hold on up to 39kts. A similar type hat is available from maggshop.com, product 423FISHATKHAKI.

Tilley are the best! But then again I'm an Alberta boy and am typing this within a few hours drive to the manufacturer. [emoji16]
But I do like them, and their lifetimewarranty

Seriously. Take a look at the Dakine Info Surf Hat. (Amazon, Ebay...)
We wear these kiteboarding; probably saving my ears from the sun. This is the best hat I have ever used. It has light weight fabric and a really good adjustable chin strap. The wide brim is soft, but has a ridged plastic "bill" piece in front that will not deform or pop up riding into a 20kt breeze in your dink. Dakine also makes a cap style hat without the all around brim.

Baseball cap with a cloth under it that covers to the shoulders for hot weather.

Re: Hats That Don't Deform?
I love Tilley hats, but they suck for wind. It's hard to find a good wide-brimmed hat that stands up to any wind. I've found a couple though. One was through West Marine, and the other was this site:

Re: Hats That Don't Deform?
Hi,
Burke have made a good stiff, reinforced wide-brimmed hat for years.
Widely available in OZ; not sure about where you are.
