Guam Base Marina

ok so the navy is now poking its big noze in to base marinas, seems, i dont know what it was before but the inshuranca coverage is a bit steep this is a pice of the email i receved.

Moving forward to the Navy's insurance requirements for vessels that are moored or stored at any Navy marina.
All vessels that are moored / stored at ----- ---- Marina are required to be covered by customary marine
insurance including hull and machinery based on the surveyed value of the
vessel, and liability coverage that is no less than $300K.

300k feels a bit steep to me. 300k is like my boat braking lose and drifting down and hitting evrey other boat in the marina.

300K is is too low for liability. If you kill someone with your boat 2 or 3 million might just save your ass. I used to run a public riding stable here in Canada and was only sued once. That extra liability insurance saved our bacon.

ahhh ok it just sounded expencive, im not inshured right now >.>......
kinda trying to put off spending any unnesacary $ on the POS sail boat i have. servay is on the to do list and i think il be worth less than 5k, broken moter, wood inside rotten (aft bunk/ storage area) all thrue holes posobly originol (1970s gate valves) electricul originol, with PO tweeks and werd setups, dead ending hot wires.....

just seemd like a lot to inshure for if im worth nothing.

o well fue more mounts and the boat will be worth a lot more

It's all about liability not about what your boat is worth. You would not be allowed in most marinas in our area with only 300k. 2 million is standard.
