Despite the 1960s sexism and a few seconds of racism ("baboons") at the end, the film was mostly good humor
and poking fun at the yachting and racing
and male and females stereotypes. Reminds me of Gilligans Island, but without a laugh track.
It was funny, cute at times, and those boats looked great sailing. It was filmed on locations in Hawaii
and features most of the action taking place on real sailing sailboats. The ketch
looked very nice.
I think the producers did a good job of the scenes and cinematography at sea, something that today is usually done in a studio with CGI or in a tank.
had his helmsman wear a PFD
