avb3 shut down the Flying Spaghetti Monster thread because (he said) it was not appropriate for a sailing forum. It's in the off topic forum, where else is it supposed to be?
Maybe we should start a forum restricted to members with a sense of humor? Or, if you want to be serious, a forum which does not discriminate against any religion, be it Buddhist, Jewish, Scientologist, or Pastafarian. Oh yeah, or Christian.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is one of the major entries for sailors. I feel it may be because the lines and rigging make the Monster feel we are family.

How odd. I know for a fact that there have been multiple threads about church attendance while cruising, and ways to stay connected to someone's congregation. Why the idea of a non-christian thread in the same vein would be shut down so soon I have no idea. It can't be that some moderator was showing their bigotry?

As an ordained minister in the church of the Fonz (we had a schism with Dudeism over the Fonz as the preeminent Dude) I find this double standard troubling.
