Dressed Ship

Ok folks, we didn't have any stays or wires on submarines to dress the ship for celebrations...come to think of it, we never participated in any celebrations at all.

So when you dress ship for festivals, what is the order of the letters, numbers, etc? You run them up the forestay and backstay? Shrouds too?

Thanks.

According to the Navy rules in dressing the ship you start from the bow go up to the masthead and the down to the stern. You alternate two letter flag with on number or repeater pennant. Order reccomented for best rainbow effect is starting from forward:
AB2, UJ1, KE3, GH6, IV5, FL4, DM7, PO Third Repeater, RN First Repeater, ST Zero, CX9, WQ8, ZY Second Repeater.

I used to dress the ship on Memorial Day and July 4 , will resume when I get a new set of code flags

Thanks for the help. My set is incomplete, but now I know what I need to order and how to fly them.
