Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
I'm now so used to sitting down to pee, that I now do so everywhere. The big plus is that I can concentrate my mind on matters other than aim.
Nevertheless, on deck, there is (to paraphrase River Rat, from The Wind in the Willows) “There’s nothing––absolutely nothing––half so much worth doing as as standing up and peeing over the rails of boats.”

Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
Every men's bathroom that I have ever visited, has individual urinals separated by dividers for privacy. On my way to Heron Island - Australia, I stopped by Gladstone - AU airport. Gladstone's airport men's bathroom had a "urinal wall", made of stainless steel and had no privacy dividers. As many as 10 guys would just stand next to each other and just pee directly at the slightly slanted metallic wall; disgusting. The splashing and the smell were revolting. I preferred to use a enclosed bathroom, instead.

May it always be " view on the horizon" and not ever " from the horizon".

Somehow this thread, and the fact that it has been in "recent discussions" all day, confirms most of what I've come to know about CF.

Never over the side while underway - that's just reckless.

lol... you crack me up man
Seriously man, ditch that cold weather nonsense in your neck of the woods. Come down here with 1' swells at 13 seconds. 100f+ cabin temps; you'll be peeing over the side with regularity.

That we cover every aspect of cruising on here perhaps? It is a subject that can pee you off, but, if you are prepared to take the piss out of others, then it is good to know the accepted method for doing it yourself.
Coops.

Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
We have a composting toilet so sitting is mandatory!
With the sink I stand, it's very uncomfortable to sit on.

Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
Welcome back Capt Doodles!
I envy you guys with small peckers that can hold it with one hand. Even at anchor, I'd better clip on or over the side I go.
I now have a C-Head but may have to reglass the whole front part to get enough clearance.

If I had the inclination to go over to the joke thread, I would post the one that ends, "Yeah, but it's not very deep."

Never ceases to amaze me how squeamish North Americans are about bodily excretions.
Honestly, urine is sterile - you could drink it, wash you face in it, with no ill effects.
I wouldn't though, it smells.
I think anyone who has been a parent should have gotten over their reluctance to handle pee and poo.
I use a wide-mouthed bottle (bragging) coloured green so it doesn't get used for anything else. Empty, rinse, put cap back on. Sorted.
Never over the side.

Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
As most on here know by now, I prefer to pee over the side! and my favorite head is a Toddy seat strung to the shrouds and firmly mounted !! If it gets a little rough I sit down to pee! it's safer, but Im still peeing overboard! Much cleaner, no head to have to clean! Heck I really like a bucket for a head!! But only when its to rough to use the deck hung head !!! Some of the folks on here really make me smile, and couple of yall make me laugh!! Everybody pees! if yall worry about how the pee gets into the ocean, ya need to get a life !! We all pee over board, it just depends on the method of the pee getting to the ocean that seems to bother some folks !!! I like to use as little mechanial systems as possible to get the pee gone! Hence I pee overboard direct, and ya know even Connie likes the shroud hung head! as long as the weathers not to rough, she hates water slappin her in the butt !!!

Re: Do You Pee Standing Up
"When on land,
You may stand,
But when at Sea,
Please sit to pee!"
Print, cut out and tape to underside of toilet lid please.
