Your link doesn’t work for me, but I noticed it’s from University of Victoria. Maybe try this one:

Re: COP26 - the Glasgow Climate Summit

How did temperature swings occur prior without human generated C02 ?

Did C02 naturally increase and then decrease in the figure referenced (2-4) ?

Prof from U of Melbourne and importantly a geologist talking at a function in the UK. There is a reason geologists never get invited to climate talks as they would reveal too many inconvenient truths

https://bitchute.com/video/y4Ordy4NEgp9/

I take it none of you have a background in this like i do? Any geologists here? And stop talking science cause there is none here except religious alarmist nonsense. The same alarmists on a number of threads all screaming their nonsense based on being ignorant without any background on the subjects.

This is the same argument we see playing itself out over Covid-19. When did so many CFers become so anti-science?!?

I'd suggest progressively over the last quarter of a century as the mass hysteria, caused by a select few, subsides as a result of numerous "tipping points" that have come to nought and where every weather event since 23rd June 1988 has been portrayed as some kind of climatic disaster in progress whilst all the while humanity prospers, nothing has become extinct exclusively because of climate change and we're all still enjoying our summer holidays.

Maybe other stuff, too.

Maybe your link is working for others, but it has yet to load for me.

But even without seeing figure 2-4, my guess would be that regional average temperatures don’t necessarily track directly with global average temperature, as they can be affected by local factors (like changing ocean currents).

Present day (it was created in 2016) is clearly labeled. You can cover up the projections with tour thumb if you want to see it without them considering they take up 0.3% of the graphic. The point is pretty clear without them.

Richard Alley is a geologist who is frequently invited to speak at conferences.

Geological Society of London Scientific Statement: what the geological record tells us about our present and future climate

Quote:
The geological record provides powerful evidence that atmospheric CO2 concentrations drive climate change, and supports multiple lines of evidence that greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are altering the Earth's climate. Moreover, the amount of anthropogenic greenhouse gases already in the atmosphere means that Earth is committed to a certain degree of warming. As the Earth's climate changes due to the burning of fossil fuels and changes in land-use, the planet we live on will experience further changes that will have increasingly drastic effects on human societies. An assessment of past climate changes helps to inform policy decisions regarding future climate change. Earth scientists will also have an important role to play in the delivery of any policies aimed at limiting future climate change.

Milankovitch cycles were the long term initial drivers of CO2 and climate change. They would start a warming cycle which would release CO2 and start a feedback.

We no longer need Milankovitch cycles to start the process; we did it all by ourselves by emitting 1.5 trillion tonnes if CO2 over the past 2.5 centuries by burning fossil fuels.

Currently Milankovitch cycles would have us in a cooling phase. WE are warming.

Jackdale

Your quotes mean nothing!

"Earth is committed to a certain degree of warming" - WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

1.O
O.1
O.O1
O.OO1
O.OOO1
...

If you read your quotes they say nothing. They can mean the earth is warming (because of the cycle we are in) blah, blah... Without figures they are meaningless and without context meaningless. You are scraping the barrel. What is your background? No need. I already know!

“People don’t listen to geologists!”

-posts links to statements from geological organizations-

“Your quotes mean nothing!”

Obvious troll is obvious.

They all support AGW. No professional association or scientific institution in any country on the entire planet disputes AGW.
GSA

Quote:
Human-induced increases in greenhouse gases, especially CO2, are the main drivers of recent global warming. Sound public policy and successful climate change mitigation and adaptation require scientifically validated assessment of current and future climate impacts.
SEG

Quote:
SEG joins nearly 200 other scientific societies worldwide and the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in agreement with the IPCC that significant action should be taken as soon as possible to begin reducing GHG emissions.
AGU

Quote:
"Human activities are changing Earth’s climate, causing increasingly disruptive societal and ecological impacts. Such impacts are creating hardships and suffering now, and they will continue to do so into the future - in ways expected as well as potentially unforeseen. To limit these impacts, the world’s nations have agreed to hold the increase in global average temperature to well below 2°C (3.6°F) above pre-industrial levels."

Did you bother to read the entire GSL statement before you posted?.
