Commander Bill King, Solo Circumnavigator and Living Legend

Delighted to stumble across a wiki page on the great man who is still going strong as he heads for his 100th birthday cake later this year

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_King_(Royal_Navy)

I purchased one of his books "The Wheeling Stars" some time ago and was delighted to read in the intro that he had taken up hang-gliding with a first flight from a 10,000 foot peak in the French Alps at the age of seventy-eight! Respect!!

Good for him! There is always that fine line between brave and crazy. It sounds though like he is on the right side of the fence.

Delighted to read "living legend" , I read his bio when he was 80.... , and although men of that caliber last long I though he was gone already.
Respect and admiration , I hope someone will throw him a proper party
