Dunno about aliens... but someone on the TV news here in Europe a coupla months or so back claimed to have seen the space ship of the Virgin Mary twice in the skies over a mountain...

If it bothers you, I believe there is a ignore button somewhere. I personally have enjoyed his blog. Kinda cool how introspective we get when we are alone on a boat. I understand the knee jerk reaction of folks here, I just hope tolerance is used.

Some of my most beautiful moments on a boat had a very spiritual bent. Sailing can be very personal, very deep. We all interpret our experiences differently. Whatever floats your boat.

As the staunchest of atheists, I'll put my hand up and defend the OP's actions in posting this pseudo-religous babble in the off-topic forum. One has the option to not read the thread. One has the option to ignore. One even has the option to (gently) stir the pot (i.e. trolling) provided one has the ability to do it in a manner that will not attract the attention of the moderators. Sure, to me what the guy posts is a load of mumbo jumbo, but he wouldn't be the only one here to be guilty of posting drivel, would he?

That's sort of my take as well. I'm not coming down on the faith based aspect of this, but rather that if everyone on here posted their blog updates the forum would be a mess.

Sometimes I'll post photos that I posted on my blog but in the several years I've been on here I've probably posted about my blog maybe three or four times. Occasionally if I or my wife have written something that addresses something specifically that someone is talking about, I'll reply with the link and tell them to read that.

As a daily visitor to the Cruisers Forum for several years now, this is the first post on religion that I've seen. And as a church going and practicing christian, I appreciate the conversation.

It seems sailing has always bred superstiion. Perhaps that's why I'm more inclinded to think of God when I'm sailing. And I've been told to always step on the boat with my right foot first.

How many of you, if you could choose, would prefer to meet your maker at sea?
